The Department of Medicine is one of the largest clinical departments in the hospital, with more than 1,500 patients annually. We provide high quality patient care from admission to hospital discharge. Our services include gastroenterology, endoscopic procedures, nephrology, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, endocrinology, infectious diseases, and dermatology.
The department has made very valuable contributions towards clinical care, education and research, and is determined to take a more active role in bringing about the hospital's transformation.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is equipped with the latest technologies to provide various types of comprehensive treatment services. The center includes 21 beds to provide medical care services to inpatients by 6 consultants and 7 assistant consultants. The Saudi Commission for Health Specialties has recently approved the residency training program. The scope of services includes reproductive endocrinology, infertility, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecological oncology, urogynecological oncology, and minimally invasive surgery. It is the only reference center for placenta accreta in the Western Region.
The Department of Surgery is known for providing the highest level of medical care to patients and for providing the highest standards of comprehensive surgical training, services and research. The Department of Surgery consists of six units: orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, ENT, ophthalmic surgery, and general surgery, which includes laparoscopic surgery, organ transplantation, breast surgery, hepatobiliary, vascular surgery, pediatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and upper gastrointestinal and endocrine surgery. The Department of Anesthesiology works in cooperation with other departments to provide quality care to all patients in the hospital. Services include cardiac anaesthesia, obstetric anaesthesia, pediatric anaesthesia, general anaesthesia and pain management. We have a pre-anaesthesia clinic, where we check the physical condition of the patient before surgery. We also have pain clinics to provide immediate assistance to patients. Our anesthesiologists are available 24 hours a day to help manage patients' pain.
The Dental Department offers the latest comprehensive dental services in 12 clinics where the surgical suite is equipped with the latest dental equipment and devices. The department includes seven sub-sections: General Dentistry, Endodontics, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, Prosthodontics and General Dental Health. We have recently included digital 3D planning of dental implants and implants and construction of fixed artificial teeth. The Department of Dental Medicine will soon launch a pilot project called "In-Hospital Dental Education Program", the purpose of which is to improve the oral health of healthcare professionals and patients.
